This is an excerpt of an email to Aaron:
My mom, dad and I went back to the Largo Cultural Center so my dad could take at look at the venue before confirming it as our best option. During that time, Mary and I drew a rough draft of the table layout and buffet line so we could get a visual description of the reception night. I also told her about my ceremony dilemma and she suggested using the Koi Pond at the park adjacent to the cultural center. So we went to go look at it and lo and behold, it was beautiful. The koi pond has two waterfalls that gently spray water. It also has a small train that makes a tour around the park (of which I'll be renting for us to get to the center). The cultural center is just a walk around the playground from the koi pond and $275 for the facility rental, chair rental, arch and runner rental. It was perfect, inexpensive and beautiful.
So the ceremony and reception site are mearly a walk away so despite the heat during the ceremony, guests will be able to walk to the cultural center atrium for punch and hors d' ouveres before the reception begins. The reception will begin around 6.
So the schedule looks like this:
4 p.m. ceremony at the koi pond at Largo Central Park
4:30-5:30 p.m. hors d' ouevers and punch served at the Largo Cultural Center atrium while Aaron and Gloria take photos around the park
5:30 p.m. doors open so guests can find their tables and be seated, and drop off gifts, and mingle
6 p.m. Aaron and Gloria enter the center and dinner is served
That's the schedule thus far.
Nick will be DJing the reception with key points for first dance, garter belt retrieval and fun dancing!
We also have access to the patio for smokers or a break from the festivites. Also, there's a playground to the side of the building for little kids.
