I'm Finally Here...And Leaving So Soon

Aaron here,

I must say, what a lovely woman I have to marry. Gloria is amazing. For those of you that know her, you know exactly where I am coming from. I love with truly one who pushes my thoughts and desires in a wife every single day. She is full of so much life that I can't help but smile and rejoice. She loves God. And she's brought me there again and again. Gloria has changed my life and I cannot wait until we continue upon our journey together. I will continue to be the strong Christian man in her life and if we are so blessed, in our children's lives as well.

With all this being said, I cannot wait to meet all of you in June. I look forward to seeing everyone, greeting new faces, having some laughs, and if weddings even have them, maybe some tears of joy as well.

Please come and eat our food, enjoy our cake, and get to know me. It is my hope to be a part of your friendships and families for the remainder of my life. If you are important to Gloria, you are extra important to me. I mean, you all played in a role to make her beautiful, and that is the woman I love.

I had the strangest dream last night that I was walking down the aisle by an acquaintance from D.C. Instead of casually walking me down the aisle, he just strolled, not paying attention to the fact our steps were not synchronized. Halfway down the aisle, he noticed his suit strings were coming undone and getting intertwined with everything in its sight. I tried pulling and pulling but the string wouldn't break. Aaron walked down from the altar to help and that was all I could remember of the dream...

Man, that was too bizarre.

After weeks of deliberation with the coordinator and Aaron, we finally finalized the catering menu for the reception. It seemed we spent a great deal of time on each piece of the catering puzzle. What color is the linen? What color are the napkins? Is this a dry reception? What entrees and stations do you want? What beverages? Each decision had to be a mutual one and if you were here to see how often Aaron is gone, you could begin to understand my dilemma.

This wedding is our wedding but I understand I'm having to take much of the leg-work for us both. As unpredictable and long as his working hours, mine are just the same with graduate school. It seems our planning hours accumulate through phone conversations to and from errand shopping, house renovating and drives to and from our occupations.

So it's such a relief to have mailed out the confirmation check to the reception site and catering proposal. More than half of my list still stares at me each day. Little by little, my wedding details will be tied with white bows.

I just need to focus on the purpose of the wedding and not get so consumed by my tendency to perfect each detail.

The next thing on my list is finalizing the wedding registries at Target and Bed Bath and Beyond. It's sad to say Aaron and I aren't very materialistic people. Our registry lacks some serious volume because we have much of these things from thrifting.

Wedding planning

Hello friends and family,

Wedding planning is in full effect and it's only becoming that much more real as decisions are being made and planning proposals are signed.
With Aaron away, I'm taking the planning by myself. Trust me, this seems like an easy task but just think of all the details I never anticipated!
But despite the anxieties and frustrated circumstances, this wedding is an event I am looking forward to. Not only does this show my unification to Aaron but God's earthly love to his children. How blessed are we to be called sons of God?
Please keep me in your prayers as we hash out the details and contracts during the most hectic point of our schedules. Whew!
